Ask, and Ye Shall Receive

When I was blogging my collecting heart out at Wax Heaven, there was kind of an underlying theme that would pop its head up every month or so. I was not happy with today’s Hobby and wanted certain elements brought back for today’s collectors to enjoy. My main effort was to bring back Pinnacle Brands and its beloved Dufex technology.

GOT IT!

Along the way, I constantly called for the return of Bowman’s Best, a product that was far superior to Bowman Chrome but lost its way and never really recovered after 1999. Topps, not only ressurected the brand (as an insert), they gave me something else I was squaking about for years on end. The return of the greatest parallel of all-time, THE ATOMIC REFRACTOR!!!

Sorry, I am very happy right now.

So the good news is that Bowman’s Best and the Atomic Refractor are back. The bad news is that Topps has given the Atomic all the respect it deserves and more by making the long dormant parallel a “one of one”, meaning that most likely, a collector like me who is on a budget, will probably never see or touch one.

So there you have it folks, my three years of Blogging like a madman did not go to waste as it is clear that the card companies were listening to us collectors. Now, all that is left is for one final request to be fulfilled from my days of Wax Heaven, the return of the most popular insert of all-time, the Donruss Crusade.

Don’t worry, I won’t hold my breath on that one.

  1. You were the first person I thought of when I saw it (no homo).

  2. Ha! Awesome. It’s good to see that if the companies insist on recycling ideas, they finally recycle the good ones…
