A Busy Week at the Wax Morgue

When it rains, it pours. That’s the best way to describe the past few days in the world of celebrity. First, the ancient Andy Rooney, 92, kicks the bucket. Something tells me all the Rodriguez’ of the world are secretly rejoicing.

Soon after the death of Rooney, legendary boxer Joe Frazier died suddenly at the very young age of 67. Frazier, will forever be known for being the first man to beat Muhammad Ali and for getting annihilated by a young and very deadly George Foreman.

Perhaps the biggest shock, however, came when the 44 year-old former Hip-Hop star, Heavy D. passed away. It should come as no surprise when a celebrity with the word “Fat” or “Overweight” in their moniker dies young but this was still unexpected.

Thankfully, Heavy has a couple of trading cards in the now embarrassing Yo! MTV RAPS set from the early 90′s. As for boxing legend, Frazier, you can find event-worn relics and certified autographs of the Ali-conqueror all day long on the secondary market.

Stay tuned to the Wax Morgue for a follow-up piece on Joe Frazier.
